Website Review + Intense Matrices on Solving Simultaneous Equations.

Aim: Be able to create an interactive website for Zoë.

Objectives:
Create a website that uses CSS to control the layout of web pages.
Create interactive web pages with at least two scripts written or adapted by yourself.
Create web pages showing a variety of types of good practice for scripting.

Hello!

Welcome back, throughout the days I've been away I have managed to complete and submit U20_A3T1 and U20_A3T2. This means that today I will be ready for the next and last assignment of this unit, U20_A4. Today Brandon B was meant to make the Thursday Quiz, but had forgotten therefore it should be here tomorrow! Instead, Zoë immediately began the next assignment by explaining both T1 and T2. This is all to do with testing, reviewing, and improving the websites we created and designed. It was very straight forward, but it had reminded me minor things I had almost forgotten.

As soon as the talk was over, I went to work. With a new document, I started to type away slowly. I created an introduction and talked about what the report will include - this allowed me to be aware of all the things I need to review, check and cover. At the start, I firstly compared my original concept website designs to the final designs, then explained any aesthetic or technological changes made - which is little to none. Afterwards, I tested all three interactive scripting elements that I put within the webpages. The time was pretty narrow and this was all I could do.

As today was purely for working further on our assignments, I didn't particularly learn anything. On the other hand, the strengths today was again, being able to focus and work independently. Whereas my weaknesses would remain as usual, small curious questions that I insist on asking before I get to it. At lunch, Zoë will be switching with Catherine temporarily, where she will once again go through a UCAS application talk to those who weren't there. I am feeling pretty confident, therefore I feel no need to re-listen to it. After Catherine is done, she switched with Emily.

Through Friday, Zoë promised to go through my U20_A2 resubmission with me to highlight anything important I might miss. As tonight I will be really busy, I have decided to complete U20_A4T1 tomorrow and thus get ahead on U20_A4T2.

Aim: Be able to solve simultaneous equations using matrices.

Understand where simultaneous equations may be used.
Be able to find the inverse of a matrix.
Be able to solve simultaneous equations using matrices.
Use the matrix techniques we have learned to solve problems.

After lunch, Emily had us for the rest of the day. Of course, I struggled with maths as always but today we turned our frowns upside down. Recapping throughout the week, we learnt how to construct a matrix, finding the inverse of a matrix, and then multiplying matrices together. This week, we combined all of that fuzzy education into one, where we use all three learning curves to help solve simultaneous equations. At the start of the lesson, Emily showed us a video about why matrices are used in the IT industry. What got me interested is that it is used in games design. Although I do not aspire to be a coder, I think understanding matrices will allow myself in the team to help understand limitations of the programming aspect... and so.

Throughout the two hour period, we covered each thing one by one and had gotten so confused. We even got distracted midway when there was a wasp in the classroom. However, sometime soon it clicked into my head when we got given an example and questions to try out. I decided to take it slow and make notes as I solve the equation. Then for the next question, I sped up. The difficult and challenging parts (weaknesses) was me understanding the inverse parts as well as multiplying fractions by whole numbers. Though my strengths were to grab the understanding.

Today has been a really good day. I'm ahead in U20 and the maths unit is clicking quick. My improvements are to practice throughout the week, complete more assignments, and more art! I must keep going at it, so I can eventually do well in the exams and get the best grade I can potentially achieve.
