Objectives:
Create a website that uses CSS to control the layout of web pages.
Create interactive web pages.
Create web pages showing a variety of types of good practice for scripting.
Hello!
After a three day gap, it is safe to say I have been working almost non-stop. Myself and Sami H has once again worked together to start the creation of webpages together. We hit into many rough bumps but in the end we managed to get to a good spot where I can continue today. I also spent lots of time progressing on my art.
Coming into college today, the first start activity we had was the Thursday Quiz that Jordan B made as we didn't come in yesterday due to teacher's training day. The video was about 'How to control someone else's arm with your brain', it is essentially a video about a company that created a human to human interface that follows the concept of neuroscience, along with some biology and chemistry, of course. It was very interesting, however I won't ramble on about it. By the end of the quiz, I got a total of 6/10. I purposely did not want to win or lose to therefore make it into what I call the "safety margin". (This is so I didn't have to answer questions if I won and do the rock-paper-scissors if I lost).
Moving onto actual work, we all continued with our assignments. For me, all I had left to do was to finish the website production, re-edit my design log and create a design documentation. At the beginning I did not know a design documentation was required, therefore I asked Zoƫ and made some notes on it, thus leading to the creation of the word document which I'll fill in after the website is produced.
To meet the criteria for my website I need to create 5 pages, have CSS as well as three different types of JavaScript. I spent the entire day making my website look top notch by: adding images, creating links and redirections, formatting the positioning of elements, adding literal content, fixing bugs, adding an 'onmouse' event for images, and adding a JS clock. Below are screenshots of my almost 'complete' website (90%).

The above images are what I have created so far - I am incredibly proud. But in all honesty I would not have made it here without the help of Sami H, he is really excellent in CSS whereas I was able to learn and grasp his concepts (I'm definitely going to help him in other work!) Today, I have learnt a variety of tips on my website, wherever I needed help I would use w3schools to remind and assist me. Furthermore, I also looked at Steam's website as my source of inspiration. For improvement, I suppose I can add more in-depth CSS but I wish to do so after the necessity is added so I do not waste time.
My strengths has been able to meet and stick roughly to my approximate design template. Another strength is the fact I worked incredibly hard with determination and consistency to get to a near-finished state. On the other hand, my weakness has been the disability to understand complex CSS and JS, therefore I cannot use complicated matters.
To reflect, I have progressed greatly. By the end of today, I still have to finish my 'about' page with some content, then re-edit my U20_A3T1 template, and lastly create a design documentation. That is where I will show annotated screenshots as well as showing good practice in coding.
Catherine also noticed that myself and a few other peers have begun our UCAS applications. It is safe to say I am ahead but I would like to start my first draft soon. Let's hope everything goes smoothly.
As it is Friday, I'll be working on my coursework and art through the weekends. I hope you read my Monday's blog, bye!
