Objectives for Zoë.
Explain in detail how HCI can impact on society, economy and culture.
Briefly state what virtual reality and augmented reality are.
Welcome back!
Recapping on the work I have done over Tuesday and Wednesday this week, I have managed to complete U20_A4 and submit it. In addition, I have also completed half of the U20_A2 resubmission. Even though work has been really hectic recently with college coursework and art, today I decided to give my absolute all and get as far as possible whilst still maintaining quality within my documents. Coming into college, we firstly did not do the weekly Thursday Quiz because there is too much work on our shoulders - Matthew T didn't have the time - don't worry, we'll do it tomorrow (hopefully).
For starters, Zoë immediately moved onto explaining what we have to do for U23_A1T2, which is due tomorrow, insane! (Not Zoë, but the workload). She did this by showing us a range of videos explaining how virtual reality has been implemented into our daily lives, and then attempting to further show how it developed over the years. Though VR is not new to me, it is still fascinating and she has inspired me to think more about the future as this can really help my Games Design career. When I do the distinction work, I am interested to become creative and give my view of what Virtual Reality will be like (influenced by a lot of different sources and imagination).
Then we moved onto working on U23_A1T1 immediately. I spent the entire morning working on explaining how HCI has impacted on society, economy, and culture. This has been somewhat stressful because I have focused my entire brain cells onto it. Whilst I work throughout the document, I research information regarding it and have learnt many nice things. I have learnt how technology has influenced the way we live and the way we perform tasks, though we do it everyday it is something you do not realise until you take a step back and think.
By the start of lunch, I was able to fully complete U23_A1T1. I did this by getting my head down and typing away, then proof reading and being succinct later onwards - this was my strength. I was also able to learn a lot about the impacts, this is definitely going to be useful in the future. My weaknesses may be the workload as I give myself too much. Though doable, it comes with a cost of being stressed.
Reflecting on the first half of the day, it has been extremely successful. I plan to start and finish U20_A1T2 tomorrow and submit the first assignment in. For tonight, I will be working on my art which will be due tomorrow.
Objectives for Emily.
Be able to add, subtract and multiply matrices confidently.
Recognise the Identity and a transpose matrix.
Recall how to find the inverse of a matrix.
Practice solving simultaneous equations using matrix methods.
After Lunch, Emily went through a lot of maths with us. I would consider this a recap and revision lesson because it is recovering everything we've learnt. We started to practice how to add, subtract and multiply fractions, which was relatively easy - though the purpose of this is for finding the inverses of a matrix later on.
Then throughout the rest of the day, we spent time recapping how to solve a simultaneous equations using matrices. It was really intense but now I am able to remember it off by heart! I won't explain it here as it'll probably confuse myself, haha.
See you tomorrow.
