Blender Sculpting & Texturing!

Aim: Create a 3D Model and write supporting evidence.

Objectives for the day:
*Re-call criteria for A3.
*Use Blender.
*Complete U41 A3T1.
*Proof read your work and compress images.
*Submit U41 A3T1.
*Begin U41 A3T2 – creation evidence.
*Complete U35 and submit.

Today has been another super productive day at college. At the beginning, Adam briefly talked to us about the future along with some statistics - these were in regards to how we watch less television and use more device platforms nowadays compared to a decade ago. I thought about what this means and it is crucial evidence of the IT industry booming. We also did the student quiz made by Liam B. It was about Blender - at the end Euan J won again and Brandon B has to make the quiz. Through this quiz, I learnt that I can access the left tool bar by clicking 'T' as a keyboard shortcut.

Before I returned to U41_A3T2, I submitted U41_A3T1 for Adam to mark. However, I accidentally sent it to the wrong email, though I fixed this mistake. Returning to A3T2, I loaded up my model on Blender and began sculpting it. For this, I primarily played around with different brushes to test its effects before applying it directly to my moderl. Through this, I learnt how to sculpt using brushes and customised brushes to help enhance the facial features of my monster's head.

Afterwards, I moved onto texturing. Instead of brushing the texture, I decided to apply an entire UV wrap around the head and this turned out amazingly well. This is the most difficult part because it has brought me a lot of problems. I somehow cannot see my texture paint after rendering. I have searched for countless tutorials and I have found nothing as of far. In addition to this, I took time to reposition my camera into a good spot for render but I still yet need to fix the lighting.

Reflecting on today's work, I have made enough progress and learnt a lot of new skills. However, I also encountered issues that needs to be solved. My inspiration was this video here because it clearly explained about texturing cycles. My aims over the weekend is to finish the model and begin typing up the production log using screenshots.

Blender Modelling Galore + Proposal Data Plan!

Aim: Create a 3D Model and write supporting evidence.

Objectives for Adam:
*Re-call criteria for A3.
*Use Blender.
*Complete U41 A3T1.
*Proof read your work and compress images.
*Submit U41 A3T1.
*Begin U41 A3T2 – creation evidence.
*Complete U35 and submit.

Hello! Over the course of Tuesday and Wednesday, I invested my independent study time into further completion of my university portfolio. I am currently working on my final and last piece before I include the finishing touches. In regards to assignments and resubmissions, I carefully planned out a to do list to split up my working intervals efficiently.

Coming into college, the main objective of today for me is to continue with U41_A3T2. With the head model, I followed the brief simultaneously to help create the specific design I originally had. Whenever I encountered an issue or unknown situation, I searched for tutorials and this has beneficially helped me learn a lot more about the software from other sources - this was my strength to solve issues. On the other hand, my weakness was making a huge mistake of losing a chunk of my progress (I learnt that undo-ing your work in Object Mode reverts your model back to stage 1) but I quickly amended this within minutes.

My main source of inspiration today was these videos - 1 & 2. This is because it has taught me to extrude with other important tips and tricks for Blender. As a result I was able to create a horn on the head model and smooth it to professional standards. See image below of my current creation!

Monster Head 'Harvester' Model.
My next steps for this is to understand the process of sculpting - possibly with texture.

Today I have also received emails from Zoe and Adam. For Zoe's email, I have to amend my Scheme of Assessment quickly and for Adam's email, I have received another resubmission for U41_A2. His marking and turnover is extremely fast and accurate, I am thankful that he spends additional time for us because it keeps us loaded with work without the need to lose the momentum. Moreover, I am also anxious about U41_A1's resubmission because I have not yet achieved any of the criteria, therefore I will invest more time into research and ask Adam before I resubmit.

To reflect half of today with Adam, it has been amazingly productive. He let us get on with work and research which lead to good progress. My goals outside of college is to follow the plan I have made in which organises all my work load.

Blog will be updated after Emily's lesson.

Objectives for Emily:
*Design a table or suitable model for collecting data.
*Finalise your plan to collect data.
*Organise how you will now collect your data.
*Have written your research plan.
*To begin collecting data.

Throughout the lesson spent with Emily, I managed to finalise the proposal/research plan that I will be using to gather qualitative data for my statement "Develop has a diverse range of students." It has been a very progressive and productive session and I am excited to execute my method next week.

In addition to this, I started to fill in other people's questionnaires and surveys, providing them with data. For my work, I feel like I am on schedule - the only request I would like is for Emily to see and read my proposal plan to double check.

Blender Day!

Aim: Create evidence to demonstrate abilities in specialist software.

Objectives for the day:
*Investigate criteria for A3.
*Use Blender and create evidence of basic features.
*Complete U41 A3 T1.
*Proof read your work.
*Submit U41 A3 T1.
*Begin U41 A3 T2 – creation evidence.
*Complete U35 and submit.

A weakness from last week was not being able to concentrate enough due to exhaustion. After sleeping earlier I feel much more refreshed and ready for the week. Starting today, Adam asked us to consider our futures. I'm happy to know where I want to be and go, which is university and Games Art & Design.

We immediately cracked on with the third assignment, U41A3T1. This was a document which we needed to demonstrate our abilities in Blender. I took multiple screenshots and explained them succinctly. A strength was being succinct and be narrow on this piece of work. I thoroughly enjoyed it because Adam let us got on with it. In between, I took a break by doing Matthew's survey for his U35.

For the other half of the day, I moved onto the U41A3T2 where we need to create evidence of our models. I have practised making a model head before during our blender skill practices so I was able to quickly create a basic head. I screenshotted every stage and will refine it down later when I type it up. A strength would be working quickly, so I have about a week or so to get the model done, add lighting, texture and more. A weakness would be my limited knowledge on Blender and I can improve this by spending more time on it at home - I can learn as I continue my coursework and via tutorials.

Reflecting today's work ethic, my inspiration was Matthew T and a YouTube video. I can see Matthew working hard on modelling a car, which sounds highly advanced therefore it makes me determined to create a well sculpted monster head. Whereas on the other hand, the video is an excellent tutorial I fully analysed to learn more access short-cuts and interface further.

My goals and aims throughout independent study days would be to get the model making done and resubmission for U41A1. I will also be going to another art tutor session (as planned earlier) and get my portfolio fully completed this week.

3D Model Design Logs & Creative Processes!

Aim: Demonstrate knowledge for planning a 3D Model

Objectives for the day:
*Complete all of U35, including the SoA and move to correct folder.
*Independently study for an hour to complete outstanding work.
*Develop your Blender skills.
*Produce evidence to support your creative process.
*Proof read your work.
*Submit U41 A2.
*Begin U41 A3 T1 – Blender evidence.

Today is a more unique and relaxing day where we leave earlier due to some circumstances. Arriving a little early before class, I sorted out my document files and downloaded my resubmission for U41_A1. I had a little look at it and told Adam that I would attempt it before asking for further help. I also successfully completed U35 and the SoA a while ago, and thus notified Adam.

For the entire day, everybody in the class is catching up with outstanding work. For me, I labelled my sketches I completed yesterday and created an inspirational mood board, then importing it into my Design Log document and explaining my thoroughly thought through processes. A strength was being able to get things done and finalise on a design idea I will be modelling, and this is because I was able to link different applications together - a monster's head for my concept. In the end I submitted A2.

During lunch, I spent time drawing instead - I drew Edward L and Adam M in my sketchbook to practice my drawing skills. For the last class before the end of the day, I began U41_A3T1 by collecting Blender evidence of myself using the software to perform multiple purposes. I have decided to delete my old screenshots and make better ones considering I can use Blender a little better now.

Reflecting on today's work ethic, I believe I have achieved a considerable amount and am ahead on top of work. If I just have enough rest, I can give everyday my all and become really productive. A weakness of today would be my anxious feeling where I feel un-confident on my modelling skills, but I can avoid this by working both in college and at home when I begin modelling. An inspiration today has been my mood board as it is composed of many images I have used to finalised my idea.

My personal goals is to get U41_A3T1 to a good point, work a little on my resubmissions and aim to get my portfolio near completion by Monday.

3D Model Research + Hypothesis Research!

Aim: Begin creative research.

Objectives for the day:
*Complete the student quiz.
*Set your self a target for Blender and achieve your target.
*Confirm your knowledge and requirements for A2T2.
*Produce evidence to support your creative process.

Today has been a long but progressive day. We began with the student quiz that Alex W made last week, which was about Blender as a 3D modelling software. I learnt that the Monkey primitive's name is called Suzanne.

We then had a short period of time where we set ourselves another Blender target. This time, I wanted to re-create a better model of the head than the last one I had made. I also wanted to sculpt it further to have distinctive features in order to practice for my future model. The first half was true as I was able to make a head much better than anticipated, this was a strength. A weakness was not being able to complete the target fully so my improvement is to practice it at home in my own time.

To confirm our knowledge and requirements for this assignment, as a class we discussed the criteria. Furthermore, Adam also gave us small activities where we had to give an outline, detail and explanation of growth mindset to get us thinking. As this linked with the previous unit quite well, our group was informed. I also worked with Chris M to write down the advantages and disadvantages as well as why we should use a research method: mind map.

For the last hour with Adam, I worked on my mind map and sketches. For my outstanding work, I have to label the sketches and complete a mood board, write it all up and submit by tomorrow! As well as my portfolio and some other university matters. My inspiration has been tutorials and images on the Internet as it helped me come up with new ideas I never thought I'd have.

Aims and Objectives for Maths with Emily:
To recall different types of data and identify uses.
To have designed a structure for a research plan/proposal.
To have started to write your research plan.
Analyses different ways of collecting data.
To work in a group effectively to design effective method of collecting data.

For the last half of the day, we began U23_A4T1 officially. Firstly, we recalled the different types of data and identify issues, so we all know the different ways of obtaining data. We also structured our research plan/proposal and this was quite difficult as it was vague to begin with, but after asking Emily and looking at some examples I became aware of what I need to do in further detail. We were also put into groups to create plans of gathering data. For me, I worked with Tom S and Alex W to create an interview. It was difficult to come up with questions for my hypothesis because it was vague, however I twisted my objective and therefore created very good qualitative open-ended questions. Today has been successful and my goals are to re-type some parts of my proposal, finish up with the questions and discuss with the group.

3D Modelling Brief!

Aim: Examine and complete all parts for U41A2T1.

Objectives for the day:
*Write a quiz question.
*Discuss Legal and Ethical considerations with application to 3D Modelling.
*Decide what you will be creating.
*Consider target audience (outline / describe / explain).
*Write a brief.
*Proofread your work.
*Submit U41A2T1.

As per usual, I continued to work on my portfolio over the weekend. I am happy to say it is 90% complete - I will be mounting my work onto my hard copy portfolio by the end of next week or so.

Today in College has been exciting. The first thing Adam gave us to consider was a quote about turning up on time. I agree with this because turning up for important events and shows professionalism, meaning that you are more attractive to be employed overall. Next, Adam did a little quiz activity with us where we had to create one question and answer each other ones in regards to 3D modelling, then taking turns to ask other peers around the class about it. This helped warmed our minds up as a result. I found this to be fun but it can also be challenging if worded poorly.

Next, we looked at the Scheme of Assessment for the second assignment: U41_A2T1. I created a checklist highlighting what we will need in order to achieve the criteria. I found this to be helpful because it encourages me to read between the lines and dissect the important key words. I believe we should do this for every criteria but only limit ourselves to 5 minutes like we did today. We had other small tasks too where we discussed the target audience from different images, it appears to be common sense but it can be difficult to find out a reason why. A strength was being able to link examples to it so I can explain it with evidence.

For the rest of the time up until lunch, I started and completed U41_A2T1 (brief for my future 3D model). A strength of today was being quick and succinct whilst still aiming for the distinction criteria - I have used my independent time wisely and started to think of the concept for my 3D model design. This resulted in better explanations for my target audience and the legal and ethical considerations. My inspirations were from my old work in U35 as I am taking directly all the mistakes I made and improving them in this unit.

For the rest of the remaining time, I will be completing my outstanding work on U41_A1 for T1 and T2 as it is due today as well as asking Zoe to check my U23 SoA for official unit submission. My weakness overall was not being able to get U41_A1 completed over the weekend, though it does not matter as much. Once my outstanding work is completed, I will hopefully spend more time at home on my art until U41_A2T2 is issued.

Reflecting on today, it has been successful because I have kept focused throughout the entire day. I really enjoyed just sitting there and cracking on with work on my own as I can get into my own little comfort zone - I really enjoy working alone! I can improve by asking any questions I am not sure about if I have any. See you tomorrow.

VFX Saint Walker!

Aim: Write about key parts of 3D Modelling theory and application

Objectives for the day:
*Set your self a target for Blender .
and achieve your target.
*Create evidence for A1T2.
*Engage in talk by Saint Walker from NUA.
*Take notes whilst listening to Saint.
*Consider inspiration for U41A2.
*Explore criteria for U41A2 and take notes.
*Begin U41A2.

The first thing we did was setting ourselves a self target for Blender. We were given one hour and within this period, I utilised the time to learn how to turn a sphere into a human head (excluding facial features). Though not perfect, a strength is that I learnt more basic shortcuts and how to sculpt with the fundamentals.

After this, the lead of NUA's VFX course, Saint Walker came in to engage with us. Relating VFX to 3D modelling, he showed us a range of inspirational videos of how modelling can be put into animation and film, and then manipulated further with VFX. We all also participated in a Photoshop tutorial where we had to put one image in another and then change the colour to make it fit. I learnt that if we turn this activity into an industry process, that is exactly how fictional scenes are created. We watched a lot of short films and we were also informed a small brief summary on the history of modelling.

As it was super interesting, I always tried to read between the lines and look at it creatively rather than just for entertainment. Thanks to this, I figured out my goal for modelling. For now, I will be aiming to be able to sculpt some anatomy and create fictional meshes. An inspiration was definitely Saint Walker himself - he taught a lot and even related it to games - I am interested in Games Art & Design.

As for personal reflection, I believe this to be a more unique day. I am certain these sessions helps out myself and other peers because we can hear from a professional. If something similar for this happens again but instead, for Games Art & Design, I will definitely be up for it.

3D Modelling Galore!

Aim: Investigate key parts of 3D Modelling theory and application.

Objectives for the day:
*Work together well.
*Investigate strengths and weaknesses for 3D Modelling software.
*Decide what grade you would give examples and why.
*Consider different methods of construction.
*Explain how constraints affect 3D Modelling.
*Create a graph to explore the relationship between; polygon count : file size : rending time.
*Create evidence for A1T2.
*Proof read your work.
*Prepare questions for Saint visiting tomorrow.

Tough Thursday!

Throughout the independent study days on Tuesday and Wednesday, I completed a lot of work - including the U41_A1T2 on Fixed Graphics Pipeline, U26_A2T2 mathematics in regards to matrices, arrays, and recursive algorithm, getting the SoA's done and finishing all resubmissions. My strength was being able to get on top of all work including other curriculum. My weakness is the result of being tired.

Coming into college today whilst waiting for other students to turn up, Adam showed us a video about what Cinema4D as a 3D modelling software - I learnt that it is used to present advertisement as it can show realistic scenarios with creativity and imagination.

We also did the student quiz made by Ben C. It was a video about how technology is impacting the future where a man created a 3D model using his hands by interacting with the monitor. It was interesting but a few questions such as accuracy and precision came in mind. At the end, I tied with Matthew and Jordan but Matthew won the dual monitor by answering the final tie-breaker question.

Throughout the hours ahead, Adam taught us the rest of U41_A1T2 content, which was: Software and files, construction methods and constraints of different factors. For software and files, we had a group activity where we had to discuss points of positive and negative sides of each software and file - this was challenging because me and Jordan B had a file extension but it was good to learn more and has inspired me to research further.

For the construction methods, we all went to Google Docs and made a copy - then made notes on its advantages, disadvantages and comments. This was simple to understand and I learnt of the different construction techniques. It was super interesting and this was a strength. A weakness would be the inability to expand on certain areas because it would be difficult to over-state above the obvious, but Adam has had a little criteria chat with us and this helped me become confident on obtaining the distinction criteria.

For the last part, we all made graphs and charts of different constraints, such as file size, rendering time and polygon count. I learnt about how each one affects one another and I started to think about external factors. For personal reflection, I have managed to achieve a lot as well as getting minor work done. I feel I have learnt a lot and the notes I have made will be beneficial for me to work furthermore.

Tomorrow, Saint is visiting us from NUA - he is the lead of VFX course. My questions would be mainly about relating VFX to games.

Maths:

Recall the definition of hypothesis
Have chosen a hypothesis to research
To have outlined the structure for a proposal
Outline questions you plan to answer in this assignment
Have considered different ways to collect data.

During today's lesson, I quickly submitted the A2 work. We moved onto A4 for now and we are starting to learn about gathering data. We learnt the definition of hypothesis, examples of it, and then we created our own ones in groups. I worked solo this time (finally) and I have ended up creating questions for a hypothesis. It was a challenge because it is something unusual for me to do. Though challenging, it is possible if I put time to it. There's no coursework, for now... :D

Geometric Theory & Fixed Graphics Pipeline!

Aim: Investigate key parts of 3D Modelling theory and application.

Objectives for the day:
*Complete the matching activity.
*Consider the term ‘Geometric Theory’.
*Write a one sentence description for ‘Geometric Theory’.
*Investigate different sections of Geometric Theory.
*Consider criteria for A1T2.
*Think about suitable evidence examples.
*Begin U41A1T2.

Hello.

Over the weekend, I have planned out my upcoming schedules for the week and restarted Chinese school. I also completed U41_A1T1 to be ahead and make use of my study time.

Then coming in this morning, we first had a Photoshop activity where we we had to match terminologies against images. These words were related to geometric theory which we worked on later. I enjoyed this because it was a good way to be aware of what we will learn.

Adam then went back to the criteria and re-emphasised what we need to do in order to achieve it. After we made notes on all the terms in geometric theory, we all had to write its definition in one sentence in our own words. This was challenging but got me thinking. Later onwards, Adam printed a few examples and we discussed as a class which is good and relevant.

I learnt a lot about geometric theory, from its differences between two similar keywords to what new words are, such as the difference between face and surface and what vertex primitives etc are. My strength for today has been able to focus clearly on what we need to do. As a result, I got through a lot of U41_A1T2. After lunch, we also had an hour to catch up on outstanding work and this has been beneficial, though my weakness would be slight distractions.

Adam also explained another section of the second task which is all about Fixed Graphics Pipeline. Everything is all new and the topic of modelling is so interesting that I was able to understand it quickly, this is also because a lot of words were recognised.

An inspiration today has been the Internet - a bit bland I know. But thanks to great research and websites, I have been able to get quality information and add it to my bibliography. As a reflection, I believe I am one of the few to have achieved quite a bit. I will work through Tuesday and Wednesday on outstanding work, outstanding Scheme of Assessments to fill in and further my art for my portfolio.

Applications for 3D Modelling!

Aim: Develop and deliver a presentation about applications of 3D Modelling. Then begin U41A1T1.

Objectives for the day:
*Complete the access forms and date correctly.
*Complete the Kahoot quiz.
*Review criteria.
*Share research and discuss findings.
*Work well together.
*Create a master presentation.
*Fairly divide workload.
*Present work.
*Take notes during presentations.
*Begin U41A1 T1.

Hello!

Today I arrived presumably early to the college centre and quickly amended the small changes for U23_A4. As for units 23 and 35, the outstanding work remaining is to complete the Scheme of Assessment and submit it officially.

When the day started, we started with a Kahoot quiz which is all about the new unit. At the beginning, I did a little terrible as I had made small mistakes but in the end, I have managed to reach second place in top 5.

Afterwards, we reviewed the criteria for A1 as a class. It has helped strengthen my understanding of the first assignment and has beneficially helped me throughout the day. I am aware to be aiming for distinction once again, and that is to comprehensively explain, add elucidated examples and use correct terminologies in regards to applications for 3D modelling.

In addition, Adam also talked about 'inspiration' to us - where it comes from, why it's needed and its benefits. A strength from the day is that I understood more of where my inspirations come from, which is literally anywhere because a small random event can spark a new innovative idea.

As a class, we also did a group research to create master presentations of how 3D modelling is applied to different applications of architectural walkthroughs, games and films. I was grouped with Alex W, Brandon B and Chris M and worked on architectural walkthroughs. We identified this to be difficult as we do not often come across this, but due to this challenge I have been able to learn a lot of how it works overall.

When each group presented their topic, I created notes and have been using it in U41_A1T1. To reflect our group work, I enjoyed it to a certain extent. I felt that the group was not completely together and I had tried my best to delegate everyone to find information. I was wondering what the differences would be if I had worked alone.

For the rest of the day, everybody worked on U41_A1T1. My weakness for today was the need to constantly re-read the criteria and ask for slight assistance - the purpose kept almost slipping out of my head. However, I did not want to start rambling in my coursework and I wanted to be straight-forward. By the end of the day, I would approximate 2/3 completion.

In terms of personal reflection, I felt that today I had concentrated well and focused on the task. To gather more information, I researched independently and I have learnt a few things that can be applicable to my course choice for university. I am enjoying this unit 100% and I am looking forward to the future. My personal goals would be to finish the first task by Monday so I can start fresh next week. I will also work on my art throughout the weekends and revise languages. My first interview will come up in due time, so I am nervous.

My inspiration has been this website here. It is incredibly informative about games and it highlighted different factors needed to be considered.

*Think about how you learn
*Reflect on if you have a fixed or a growth mind set
*Take notes during the video
*Complete the matching activity
*Write a new SMART target
*Look at the SoA for the new unit
*Begin research for Unit 41.

Hello! This is the first day back to college for 2016!

Coming into the centre today, we firstly wanted to use a software called Evolve to help update some software-related business. We found out it wasn't installed so we used an IT Form and filled out our irritable issue. We also spent time reflecting on U35 in general and looking at where everyone is, this was good to see how far people are and how much time is needed - personally, I have completed U35.

We also did a Kahoot quiz reflecting about U35 in general and I came 3rd, top 5 in the quiz. I made a small mistake and that is learning that .PNG is in fact a lossless compression file format. Furthermore, we also did the end of unit survey and I had found that it had benefited me in a particular way - mainly the planning stage because it has helped me to think more outside of the box and read between the lines to find and create the best design possible.

Adam training taught him about fixed mindsets vs growth mindsets and the differences in how they act and think. We were shown a video and we made notes about it - I have learnt that everyone is in fact one or the other and this can help me find more appropriate partners in the future to work with. I have learnt that I have a growth mindset. We also stood up and participated in an activity where we were to share our opinions and debate on a discussion about various statements such as "You can learn new things but you can't really change your basic intelligence." Luckily,I have already thought about that in the past so I had an answer instantly.

We also went to our personal Google Docs and added a SMART target. My SMART target is to improve my SPAG (yes, it's terrible) and make sure I balance out my diligence in terms of work ethic. Knowing I can push myself is good but not being satisfied can have a downfall. This will be my first 2016 college-study-resolution.

Throughout the day, people have been trying to catch up with their outstanding work. Since I have done everything, I spent time filling out the Scheme of Assessment and creating new folder structures for the next unit - Unit 41 3D Modelling. I also took this opportunity to talk to Adam and Zoe about anything I was unsure about and added this to my to-do list. Adam also told me great news about NUA and that the recruiter team has been keeping an eye on my work - I am incredibly honoured and happy because NUA is currently my first choice.

When we started on looking at the new unit, we firstly created an initial mind map and stormed out our ideas of what we know, what it could involve, and what this could mean. You can read my mind map here. Later on, we were presented with a power point that help set our expectations, skill capabilities and shown examples of what modelling can do (e.g. games design). I have decided to set myself a small target of being able to create a character with textures and more. I was introduced to the idea of Blender and today is finally the beginning of my modelling journey.

For personal reflection, today has been a chilled and relaxed day, yet also so informative. I believe I can keep up with all my work if I have a consistent time planned out.

Objectives for this second lesson:
*Define what recursion means.
*Understand how recursion links to sequences and series.
*Use bubble sort and quicksort to arrange a sequence of numbers.
*Identify how a sorting algorithm might be coded.
*Recall what must be included in the assignment.

After lunch, we had maths with Emily. I had completed the entirety of T1 throughout the holidays and have been prepared. I focused and concentrated as hard as I can to understand what she taught for the new U26_A2T2. She taught us Fibonnacci's sequence which I learnt online, recovered the definition of recursive sequences, gave an example, taught factorial, bubblesort and quicksort. At the end of the lesson, I made changes to my T1 and handed this in for now until T2 is done. T2 is a report which I will need to explain relationships between terminologies and its definitions etc.

Update!

Update:
Happy New Year! First blog post of the 2016.

Missing Blogs:
On the last week before the Christmas holidays, I contracted a heavy fever and flu and could not make it into the centre. However, on the last half day, I came in to upload my U35_A3 digital graphics onto FileZilla (local host server) so I could get review feedbacks despite being ill. This was worth the trip but at a cost of getting an even bigger cold. Once I recovered, I worked on U35_A3 both T1 and T2 and managed to submit it on time. All that is left is to fill the SoL after it is all marked.

Coursework:
As explained above, I completed the entirety of U35. I also managed to get all the resubmissions for U23 done. Zoe has returned U23_A4 for me and all I have left are small changes. I have also achieved my second distinction of the year and I am incredibly happy with the effort I have put in thus far.

Maths:
Mathematics for IT U26 is a difficult unit overall. I struggle to learn some aspects either because I am not used to learning Maths since GCSE or I'm just terrible - probably the latter. I spent time on the Internet at home re-learning and asking various people such as my old private tutor for help. I managed to get U26_A2T1 done within 8 hours! As for future, I may ask Emily to help teach a small group or do 1 to 1 sessions as the classroom has too many distractions.

University & Portfolio:
I may have mentioned this before or not, but I have been offered an interview for Hertfordshire and Norwich University of the Arts (only applied to two universities). The interview dates are around mid-January and February. I have been working hard alongside my coursework with art, doing portraits, concept designs, digital designing and more. I only have a small amount to do then my work should be ready for print to be put in my hard copy portfolio.

Other:
I will be continuing Chinese school on a regular basis and despite the blog looking like I've been working through the entire break, I have actually took some to rest and spend with family and friends.
