The starter today was a discussion of what legal and ethical is. Due to learning this in the past, I was familiar with these words. Legal is in relation to law and ethical is about moral dilemma. We looked at this because today would be focusing on these terms and the issues around it. Before the first lesson began, I quickly submitted U03_A1T2 so Adam could mark this, which was about my Data Flow Diagram.
The class was once again split into different pairs and was assigned to either one legal issue, one ethical issue or one operational issue for information systems. I was paired with Ed (unfortunately he was not here), and was tasked to create a presentation about it. Using personal knowledge from GCSE and the Internet, I created a power-point around Data Protection Art 1998 and practised my pitch. Later onwards, everyone presented their work and I was first. A strength of today was being able to be confident in my pitch and give a clear voice whilst looking at my audience. Whilst I listened to other presentations, I made notes.
With the notes made, I started and completed U03_A2T1, eventually submitting it. Furthermore, Adam also covered one ethical issue which is whistle blowing - this was very interesting because he used a real life case study, which you can read here. I was so into it, I wasn't paying attention but I now understand what it is.
For the last hour of the day, I proceeded to work on U03_A1T3. In this task, I wrote in detail about how business data could be improved. I used the Data Flow Diagram to assist my context and explanations. I also worked on my U03_A1T1 resubmission where I had some errors. If I do not finish by today, I will finish over independent study time.
Overall, today has been a really productive day. Due to being busy at home, I am happy that I am completing work within college periods. I hope to be fully refreshed for Monday.
